From time to time, I would like to show you a bit about how I grew up. I grew up in the 60's in Hollywood, CA. There is so much history here that I would like to share. Here is a good website and a place to start: http://walknridela.com/roaming-the-region/hello-hollywood/ You might also like to check out this page: https://www.facebook.com/VintageLosAngeles I attended Hollywood High and Le Conte Junior High. I lived in the Hollywood Hills off Outpost Drive. Here was my family home: 1960's Modern. It was off-white when we lived there, not this putrid shade of green. Oh well. The entire house was upstairs to take advantage of the city views, with the exception of my room, which was downstairs, to the left of the front door. It was like I had my own apartment and very separate from the rest of the family (who drove me crazy!). My parent's room: Here is my first job. I worked as a salesperson at the Estée Lauder counter at The Broadway Hollywood, at Hollywood and Vine while I was attending UCLA: You can see the famous sign, in the top left of the photo. This is how it looks now. The sign is atop a fancy condo building. If you have any questions about Hollywood, I would love to hear from you. Please ask away! ************************** This is a wonderful video that my high school alumni made from Hollywood High School: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jvwR6QfH7M My dad came to this country because "he wanted to see stars...or at least places the stars had been." in the 60's, Hollywood was the most famous place on earth and you were a fool to NOT want to be here. Well, my dad got his wish. We entertained many famous stars in our home. Tony Curtis and Eva Gabor to name a couple. Our across-the-street neighbor was David Mc Cullum from the TV show The Man from U.N.C.L.E http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057765/ Our next door neighbor was Jason Robards, who won 2 Academy Awards, one for All the President's Men and the other for Julia. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001673/awards The Carradine's lived just up the street. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Carradine My school bus mate went on to become Rita Wilson, the actress, who married her fellow cast member from the movie Volunteers, Tom Hanks. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001854/ Ah, yes. Dreams DO come true in Hollywood.
